Birthday Celebration of Zubin Garg on 18-11-2025

Description: With the initiative of the B.H. College Rural Library and the Students’ Union, the 53rd birthday of the melodious singer Zubeen Garg was celebrated today on 18 November 2025.
The programme titled “Phul Phulok Rodore Phul…” was held in the B.H. College auditorium. The Vice-Principal of the college, Ranjit Bhuyan, lit a lamp before the portrait of Zubeen Garg to begin the event. In his keynote address, Bhuyan beautifully highlighted various aspects of Zubeen Garg’s colourful life journey.

In the programme, college faculty members—Nayanmoni Hazarika, Dr. Piyali Roy, Chandamita Das, and Dr. Dhira Bhattacharya—along with students paid tribute to Zubeen Garg through songs, speeches, and poetry recitations. School students from the adopted village also offered their homage through dances performed to Zubeen Garg’s songs.

The Principal, Dr. Bhushan Chandra Pathak, urged the new generation to walk in the footsteps of Zubeen Garg and follow his ideals. Dr. Dipmoni Das, faculty member of the English Department, presented a wonderful reflection on Zubeen Garg’s revolutionary mindset.

The audience was mesmerized by musical performances dedicated to Zubeen Garg by Vishnu Nath, a teacher from Sankardev Shishu Niketan, Barpeta Road, and student Bibhav Pathak. Rimpi Das, a student of Ganesh Lal Choudhury College, also paid tribute through her musical performance.
